IMG_7970Did you know that your skin is the largest organ in your body? Skincare is my absolute favorite thing to talk about… I could get really annoying and go on for hours but i’ll keep this short. I first found my love for skincare when I was around thirteen years old and started to get painful, under the skin pimples that I just couldn’t get rid of. My dad has his own skincare business (centered around mostly anti-aging products) and luckily, he spread his knowledge of the subject to me over my years as a teenager. I think this is why my acne only lasted about a year, because he helped me find a proper regimen that I consistently used and it quickly fixed all my skin problems.

One of the most important things I have learned is that not only are the products that you use on your face so important, but the foods you put into your body are, as well. If you are eating greasy cheeseburgers and chocolate bars every day, you can’t expect the quality of your skin to improve. This is why it is so so important to eat things that grow from the earth (aka fruits and veggies), because they are not processed and will make you glow from the inside out! Also, HYDRATE!!! This is something we are all guilty of forgetting to do on a daily basis. We are supposed to drink 6-8 eight ounce glasses of water a day, and that is without any exercise. When your body is dehydrated, your skin is dehydrated and may appear dull and tired. If you are drinking water throughout the day, your skin will look rejuvenated and hydrated, so give it a try to improve your overall health! you will see a huge difference. Another thing I can say is to reduce the amount of bacteria that reaches your skin by washing your face as soon as you are done working out. All of the toxins in your body come out when you sweat, so when you let that sweat dry without washing it off, the bacteria settles into your skin and clogs your pores. If you are on the go and don’t have time to give your face a solid wash in a sink with a cleanser, I would highly recommend carrying some sort of face wipe with you. I love the Neutrogena grapefruit face wipes because they have a little bit of salicylic acid to prevent acne. Ok, now listen up because I have a huge announcement: THE NUMBER ONE KEY TO REDUCING YOUR ACNE IS… simply avoid touching your face!!!  (and also wash your hands with warm water, because sometimes we just can’t help it). Also, wash your pillowcases at least once a week because there are billions…even trillions of different bacterias on your fingers and your pillowcases, so keep them to a minimum by making sure you’re washing both frequently!! Just my two cents on some of the things you can do to take better care of your skin and health in general…

Tarte sunscreen spf 30 (SPF IS A MUST FOR KEEPING YOUR SKIN YOUTHFUL AND SMOOTH!!!)

I swear by these products!!!! Give it about two weeks of consistent application to see a huge difference in your skin.
