As an athlete and full time college student, I have had the hardest time figuring out how to get in a quick and easy breakfast before my 6am workouts and 7:30am practices. Yes 6am is VERY early, and for me, it’s super important to eat before I work out no matter how early it is because if I don’t, I don’t feel fully energized. Luckily, I came across this recipe for overnight oats this summer and can’t wait to start making it when I get back to my routine in Tucson. I must admit I have never been a big fan of oatmeal, but this recipe changed my opinion and it’s been my favorite way to start the morning! It fills me up just right and provides me with enough energy to get me through my morning workout. I hope you guys love it as much as I do!
-1 cup of quaker oats
-3/4- 1 cup of soy milk (you can use your preference of milk)
-let it sit overnight in the refrigerator
-cut up 1/2 a banana (you can add whatever fruits you’d like)
-drizzle all natural honey over the oats
-add hints of cinnamon and mix it all together
…and there ya have it, overnight oats! It may be weird at first to eat it cold, but trust me it tastes amazing. Feel free to warm it up if you prefer it that way. Enjoy!
